Goat’s Cheese Balls

Sharing food & a couple of drinks with loved ones is the perfect way to end a warm Summer day. I like looking for new ways to entertain friends and family with flavoursome and colourful recipes that are quick and easy to prepare. These melt-in-your-mouth Goat’s Cheese Balls can be made ahead of time, giving you that extra moment to relax & enjoy! 

Cut into small pieces & rolled into balls using the palm of your hands, the goats cheese is then covered in the toppings of your choosing and drizzled in a bit of honey. Crushed pistachios & raisins, fresh chives & sesame seeds or even dukkah & lemon zest, the possibilities are endless! Use any spice, aromatic herb (fresh or dried), grain, nut or preserved food - yes those sun-dried tomatoes are delicious paired with goats cheese - for a flavoursome & delightful experience! Enjoy!


- Vegetarian Recipe -

GOAT’S CHEESE BALLS

200g of fresh goat’s cheese

1 tablespoon of pistachios, shelled*

1 tablespoon of raisins*

1 small bunch of fresh chives*

1 tablespoon of sesame seeds, toasted*

Zest of ½ lemon*

1 tablespoon of dukkah*

A drizzle of honey*

Roughly chop the pistachios & raisins. Combine them in a bowl.

Finely slice the chives. Combine with the sesame seeds in a second bowl.

Combine the dukkah & lemon zest in a third bowl.

Cut up the goat’s cheese into 15-20 slices and roll them into balls.

Roll ⅓ of the cheese balls in the pistachios & raisin mixture, ⅓ in the chives & ⅓ the dukkah & lemon zest mixture.

Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm and serve with a drizzle of honey.

Notes: *Play around with different ingredients & flavour combinations. All sorts of dried fruits, nuts, grains, seeds, aromatic herbs & spices would pair perfectly with these goat’s cheese balls.
