Honey Roasted Figs
If I had to choose one fruit that reminds me of my childhood, it would hands down be figs. At the end of every Summer, we would stop by my cousins house & indulge in freshly-picked figs from their garden. They never tasted so good than right then & there. Their vibrant colour, sweet honey flavour and soft almost jam-like texture make them truly unique in the fruit kingdom.
Fig season, being quite short-lived, I wanted to share a quick & easy way to enjoy this delightful fruit a little differently. Sliced and roasted in the oven with a drizzle of honey & some fresh rosemary, I can guarantee this recipe is a crowd-pleaser.
Honey Roasted Figs go together perfectly with just about everything - sweet or savoury! Add them to your morning oats or yogurt parfait, enjoy them alongside your weekend brunch pancakes or as a delightful topping with some ice-cream. And if you are feeling more savoury, Honey Roasted Figs work wonders topped over a crispy slice of toasted bread with whipped ricotta, added to a green salad or alongside from cooked veggies or fish. Enjoy!
